ABOUT THIS TEAM
UX Researchers at BOLD explore users and their journeys, new and existing product offerings with a variety of methods (qualitative, quantitative, lean), integrating the study of user wants, needs, and behavior in the product context for the best solutions. Researchers who love to enable colleagues in the Product and Design teams to make great experiences will find this role very rewarding.
The foundation for success as a UX Researcher is excellence in research methodologies, a solid understanding of user behavior, and a love of exploring and improving technology products. The researcher’s experience and research-based insights will bear on all aspects of product development, from the most tactical to strategic direction. Methods will run the gamut from ideation workshops, contextual interviews and observation, quantitative/survey research, prototype exploration, detailed product usability research, and more. In a team context, researchers will help deliver new solutions for our websites, mobile applications, and rich-internet-applications.
The right candidate for this position can apply their skills to improve and augment our suite of products and elevate them to higher standards. You will partner with product management, design, analytics, and other UI/UX teams to design and implement research studies that deliver research insights that will help the teams explore and develop product solutions that drive excellent customer experiences.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design and execute research studies for new and existing product offerings.
Collaborate with Research, Design and Product teammates across products and initiatives.
Lead stakeholders and the organization to the most impactful research questions.
Present research and visualize findings to facilitate Design and Product goals.
Help develop new UX solutions via research and multi-disciplinary cooperation with UI/UX designers and other Product stakeholders.
Unite and align functions through research findings and understanding of both user and stakeholder needs.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
5+ years of experience conducting user research and informing UX strategy.
Research-focused advanced degree in Psychology or a related field studying human behavior.
Fluent English and experience working as a UX researcher in an English-speaking environment (i.e., the whole team is international).
Comfortable analyzing and working with both qualitative and quantitative data.
Experience working with large-scale data in multi-method studies.
Basic statistical competence.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, applying lean and traditional methods to provide actionable information in a time-sensitive manner.
Working knowledge of and experience with mixed UX research methods, such as usability studies, field studies, surveys, benchmarking, creation of user personas, participatory design, surveys, focus groups, and competitive analysis.
Experience facilitating workshops with users and stakeholders.
Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams, e.g., with design, marketing, and product teams.
Strong ability to communicate and influence product teams on the research approach to solving problems that significantly enhance the user experience.
